Atlas Report: San Diego 2

The second and final San Diego stop on the 2016 Monster Energy Supercross calendar saw riders and fans show their appreciation to the military, an event that we were happy to support with a custom Atlas brace for Jason Anderson!

Jason entered round six keen to translate his blistering speed into positive results but was once again hindered by a mediocre start in the 450SX main event. Ending lap one 8th, Jason quickly got to work and carved his way around some of the biggest names in the sport. Whilst others struggled to make passes on a track that was technical and tight, ‘21’ clawed his way to fourth and narrowly missed out on a podium spot. Thanks to his third consecutive fourth place finish, Jason still sits third in the series standings.

Lawson Bopping, another 450SX contender putting his faith in Atlas, unfortunately, had to battle some bad luck that ultimately led to him missing the main event. First turn crashes claimed him in both the heat race and last chance qualifier, but he still sits twenty-second in the 450SX points.

Chris Howell had a positive night in the 250SX West class, as he started up front in the heat and transferred directly to the main event. Once in the main, Howell finished sixteenth and claimed his best finish of the year. The five points bumped him up to twenty-second in the standings.
